The dinner in the vineyard with which we opened the month of August was an ‘opportunity to rediscover the taste of tradition, in the picturesque setting of our beloved vineyards.

Offering the menu and preparing the delicious dishes for our guests was Ristorante del Giuse, from Stradella (PV).
Giuseppe, the owner, has been in the restaurant and catering business for many years, but he has never prepared a dinner among the vines, so this was a new challenge for him and he found it very stimulating.
There was that ‘festive air-including music-that in part reminded him of the village festivals in which his restaurant has been involved many times, but without crowding and in a simple but well-kept rural dimension that was really pleasant.
Giuse is very attached to the dishes of our area and was able to immerse everyone in the atmosphere and flavors of the past.
Unmissable then was the combination with our wines, specially chosen – as always – so that wine and food enhanced each other.
Riesling, Cortese, Bonarda, Buttafuoco: these are our four musketeers of the evening.
One refined white like Athos and the other lively like d’Artagnan, a full-bodied and bubbly red like Porthos, and finally an elegant and structured one like Aramis.
Four of our wines, carefully selected to reveal nuances, scents, aromas and sensations.
What they wanted to offer the guests were the flavors of tradition, concrete dishes and wines, from our areas, sometimes with the addition of some refined ingredient in the dishes.
This was the case with the puff pastry appetizer stuffed with ricotta cheese, zucchini and that extra touch given by squash blossoms.
Among the various courses artfully cooked for the evening in the vineyard, the braised beef ravioli with alpine butter could not have been missed, but with an unexpected ingredient: lemon zest! So good that many asked for more, so even for Giuse the satisfaction was double!
An unusual ingredient also entered his dessert: muscat brandy, which made the semifreddo special.
Many thanks to our guests; we are glad–along with Giuse–that we broke their hearts once again.
