Summer heat makes people greatly appreciate fresh and minimally processed foods. 🥵
A fish tartare is a great idea 💡 and you can be daring in combining particular ingredients, for a recipe that is a bit outside the box.
The summer dish we propose this time is tuna tartare with passion fruit.

Those who have already tasted it know that it is an explosion of flavors: with the delicacy of raw fish and the acidity and sweetness of the flesh of passion fruit, that is, the fruit of the passion flower. It is an exotic fruit native to South America, which later spread to other warm areas.
Ingredients
The dish includes:
- Very fresh tuna to be diced, 🎣
- Coarse salt, whose hard grains will then offset the viscous texture of the passion fruit
- Ripe passion fruit to be drained and blended into the tartare
- Extra virgin olive oil, lime juice and pepper for marinating
It only takes about 20 minutes, the recipe is really simple, and then you can move on to the plating stage.
How to serve tuna tartare with passion fruit
You can opt for a traditional flat cylinder made with a pastry cup, or… go for the finger food and appetizer concept, serving the tartare directly inside the passion fruit shells. Very cool!
Food and wine pairing
What can’t miss in food and wine pairing? A glass of our sparkling wine 2278 Martinotti method.

It is a not too pronounced bubble that opens the dances for good, it is an extra dry that complements the sweetness of the passion fruit, it is a wine of good persistence that does not get overwhelmed by the insistent flavor of the two main ingredients of the dish (the raw fish and the exotic fruit).
Aperitif it is! 🥂
