Wine label as story: meeting of earth and artistic vision for Vigna Rogolino

A new wine has been born, the third Buttafuoco from the Francesco Maggi Winery: Vigna Rogolino.

Not simply wine

It is not simply wine: it contains our deep commitment, because it is not a replica of the Historic Buttafuoco Vigna Costera that we have been producing for more than 25 years: Vigna Rogolino has its own soul, well-defined and deliberately more immediate.

Wine as a living picture

The bottle of Historic Buttafuoco, chosen by the Historic Buttafuoco Club with the sailboat embossed on the glass, is already very elegant, but in this case we wanted our new wine to also become a living picture.

The Excellence of the Territory

Because we believe that the skill of those with roots in the territory should always be remembered, for the label of the Rogolino bottle from the very beginning the idea arose to rely on the great Pavia artist and friend Stefano Bressani, a master of contemporary art of international caliber.

The label of Buttafuoco Vigna Rogolino

Stefano Bressani’s visual, visionary and creative sensibility was able to dialogue with the shapes and colors of the land from which this Buttafuoco comes.
Thelabel of Buttafuoco Storico Vigna Rogolino that he created interprets not only the material-nature, the hill, the vineyard, the vine between earth and sky-it has the ability to evoke the landscape, the enchanting panorama that we find every day looking at this vineyard.

Excellence is not only a matter of wine quality, then, but also resides in the narrative that Stephen has given voice to with his beautiful signature label.

Our work was born here, among the hills of Oltrepò Pavese and ancient gestures, and is also nourished by valuable collaborations.
When visual art and wine art meet, together they can transform a product into an experience.
This encounter gives a twofold experience: the good of wine and the beauty of label art.

And like wine, art can also wait. Stephen watched for a long time, sitting on the bench that sits in front of Rogolino Vineyard. He waited as one waits for the right ripening of the grapes, the harvest, the refinement and finally the bottling, until – after some time – the right intuition came: the installation of the fabrics with which he recreated precisely the shape of the hill of Vigna Rogolino and with the choice of fabrics that, with their texture, even reproduce the geometry of the rows. Then… the photograph of this exclusive work of art as the label for the bottle of Buttafuoco Vigna Rogolino!

Hands that guard the Art

The label of Historic Buttafuoco Vigna Rogolino is the indelible trace of a shared craftsmanship.

In the era when artificial intelligence accompanies many aspects of everyday life and sometimes dominates it, manual art has an even more significant value, because the heart of the work remains human: it is the eyes that check the health of the grapes, the hands that harvest the grapes, but also the hands of an artist like Stefano Bressani that hold scissors and cloth with which he creates worlds to be admired.
Hands that, at the presentation of Buttafuoco Vigna Rogolino held in the refined location of Pavia’s Al VITA Restaurant & Café (another excellence of the area), left a signature 🖋️:
for the evening, Rogolino bottles were autographed in real time by Stefano Bressani, a testament to a prestigious collection.

The official presentation of the Vigna Rogolino

The presentation-Thursday, Oct. 16-was attended by numerous prominent figures including-the President of the Historic Buttafuoco Club, the Director of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese, the President of the Enoteca Regionale della Lombardia, the Pavia Fisar and Onav Pavia Delegations, reporters from Italia a Tavola, La Provincia Pavese, Il Giorno, Oltre, Prima Pavia, Radio Uau, Il Golosario, and TelePavia.
We were wonderfully guided by Ermanno Bidone in the story of the birth of Buttafuoco Vigna Rogolino and its label, and we proceeded to enjoy the evening’s star of the evening in the glass, paired with the delicious menu prepared by the chefs of Al Vita restaurant.

We thank all the guests of the evening one by one, for being there, for sharing with our Cantina Francesco Maggi and with Stefano Bressani a moment that is full of meaning for us: we firmly believe in the expressive power of a wine such as Buttafuoco Storico and of the territory from which it comes, also underlined by a label that is a true work of art.
